RARE Victorian Double Top Hat Box Case With 2 Hats Folding Opera & Plush Silk
We have for you today an unbelievably rare leather DOUBLE top hat case with 2 top hats included. All three items are in stunning condition especially considering their ages. Plush silk hat - 55 cm (21 5/8") inside circumference, US size 6 7/8, UK size 6 3/4, 5 1/2" high, 1 1/2 band. Silk collapsible opera hat - 56 cm (22") inside circumference, US size 7, UK size 6 7/8, 5 3/4" high, 3/4 band. The leather travel case tapers up from the bottom at 9 1/2" x 8 1/2" to the top at 13 1/4" x 10 3/4" and is 9 high. The catch stays securely shut but I do not have the key. The leather is a bit dry in places as expected on a case of this age. It could use a little conditioning.
You will be hard pressed to find another set like this in this condition. This is a large, heavy package.
