Rare superb antique Jumeau doll/bebe/poupee in original box-Paris -18 /1885-1890
Rare superb 18 Bebe Jumeau doll with wonderful face expression presented in her original box. Her head is marked : DEP and a number but hard to read because her head is stringed very tide. Number is 3 or 7. She has a wonderful bisque swivel head with fine pale poured bisque face, without any hairlines , no restauration (test lamp done). Gorgeous large glass eyes with intact eye lid sleep function and real lashes on upper eye lid (some are missing). Painted feathered eye brows -pierced ears. Sweet open mouth showing four teeth. Nice removable original long hair wig with original cork plate. She comes with her beautiful wooden body. Body is marked to the label : BEBE Jumeau diplome D` Honneure. Fully jointed composition and wood body with some surface cracks , pls. Body has a voice pull mechanism with two different strings that still work. Doll is dressed in her original presentation dress and original socks and original leather shoes which are marked. Included also is a pantaloon and under gown made from cotton with lace decoration , an apron decorated with pink flowers made of silk fabric , a pink dress (damaged) and a pink silk under gown(damaged). All clothing is completely handmade (no sewing machine involved) and original. Box is marked inside and out and comes in average shape for the age.
