Extremely rare 1960s Dodge Promo White Hat Special Cowboy Hat with Original Box. The hat is 100% wool and is size 7-3/8.
Appears to have never been worn. There is some minor wear to the hat from being stored all these years. The vinyl on the inside of the hat has gotten tough or harden some too. It also needs a light cleaning. The box does show wear as well. This is a fantastic find! In the late'60's, The Dodge Boys "White Hat Specials" were part of Dodge's marketing and advertising campaigns. In these ads, the Dodge sales people, "the Dodge Boys, " were referred to as "good guys in white hats" and portrayed as friendly, helpful, and customer-oriented, as well as able to beat the competition to the draw. Banking on the height of the popular spaghetti westerns of the late 1960's, Dodge launched the 1969 "White Hat Special" editions of their lineup. Named after the old Roy Rodgers maxim that, "The good guys wore the white hats, " the White Hat Specials were more about the look and comfort than say, the more performance heavy R/T packages. Vinyl tops, seats, light packages, wheel covers, and remote-controlled side-view mirrors were par for the course.
The White Hat Special package was also made available on Darts, Polaras, and Coronets in addition to the sporty Chargers.
