Up for sale is a very rare antique handmade 18th century dowery wedding chest made in India. It's completely crafted by hand out of hand carved wood and hammered wrought iron. The piece is beautifully footed and has acquired a stunning patina from age. The box opens at hinges next to the pivoting carrying handle at the top/center. Each piece of wrought iron is hand cut, forged, and intricately engraved.

There are three hinged locks at the front and the center one has been missing for many years. The box is in great antique condition and measures 17 1/4 inches long by 13 inches back to front by 9 inches tall. One of the back feet has been carved and replaced.
