Jadite Jeannette (jadeite) Salt Box Rare with original wooden top 100% Intact

If you are looking for a trophy item, here is an original rare salt box container made in the late 30's where Jadite (jadeite) was invented by Jeannette Glass company in Jeannette Pennsylvania. In my lecture at the National Depression Glass Association show while in Wellington Kansas, I described how this opaque glass was made by combining the outdated Depression Glass green with milk glass to obtain this color. (Probably used left over Windsor Diamond melted down) Well the fruits of Jeannette's labor are here in an item that outdated itself as a receptacle for salt in commodity fashion.

Approximately 5" by 5.5" by 4 tall is a relic that you may desire in your jadite collection. It is all original even though the wooden top looks odd.

(see the photo in the above listed reference book) In order to intensify the rich green color at that time, Jeannette mixed in Thorium salts a derivative of radio active particles. If you hold a black light up to the side about 3 inches away you will see the unusual glowing yellow-green color.
